Have you ever hand-written a note to a vendor with questions or comments and stuck it in with your paper invoice? Now, you can do that via the notes function in your invoice on Bill.com.

Keep in contact with your vendors and ensure that the message was received by having a trackable form of communication through the notes section in your invoice.

To add a note in accounts payable in Bill.com, you simply go through the following steps:

  1. Select “Bills” in the navigation bar
  2. Find and select the bill # you would like to leave the note in
  3. Click on the “Add notes” button on the top right above the Bill Summary section
  4. Write your note
  5. Turn on the “Visible to vendor” toggle and make sure it is green
  6. Save

If you are connected to your vendor via the Bill.com Network, you can also leave a general message to them instead of leaving it in a specific bill.

If a vendor replies, you will receive an email, and by clicking reply in that email, you will be directed back to the note in Bill.com.
